Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismology
We would like to introduce to you our comprehensive fellowship programme
oriented mainly towards pediatric ophthalmology. This programme is successfully running
since 2013 and trained over 11 fellows by now.
The programme consists of one and half year training, We takeup 3 fellows annually.
In following manner
- 1st 3 months : Orientation to hospital working pattern, Pediatric vision evaluation, attending OT and OPD
- 2nd 3 months : Assisting squint cases in OT , Evaluating squint cases in OPD
- 3rd 3 months : Evaluating pediatric ophthalmic cases in OPD independently,conducting squint camp
- 4th 3 months : Operating squint cases and pediatric cases independently
- Next 6 months : aplication of knowledge and operating independently
Besides this following topics will be discussed throgh series of lectures with help of Videos and presentations
Besides this you will have to attend our outreach programme and do SICS surgeries
My clinic is a purely private set up which caters 150 opd cases every day (Roughly 20% pediatric) and 350 -400 surgeries in a month averagely( 10-25 % pediatric depending on school holidays etc) .
We have full time glaucoma, Retina and cornea, oculoplasty departments. Hospital is well equipped with advanced equipments and LASIK setup too.
You will be given 20-25 squint & pediatric cases independently depending on your skill & availability. Besides this you will be given about 150-200 SICS cases in a year and and few phaco cases depending on your skills(10 to 100). You will have to attend eye donation calls and emergency calls.
Sangli is in the southern part of maharashtra well connected by Railway. It is 450 kms from Mumbai.
